iPad chargers can open beer bottles

That clever Jony Ive. Not content with giving the planet all manner of lovely iThings, the Apple designer may also have given the world the first combined AC adapter/beer bottle opener.

US Student Eva Giselle, aka @EvaZebra, made the discovery when she posted the pic below depicting the alleged removal of a beer bottle cap with an iDevice charger.

The Tweet went viral, leading third parties to test the veracity of Ms. Giselle’s claims. Some have since suggested that iDevice chargers may not be sufficiently robust to successfully release beer from the bottle, after reports of fractures and cracks emerged. As it seems highly unlikely that the Genius Bar won't smile fondly upon pilsener-pulverised power packs, warranty-wise, it's hard to recommend you try this at home.
